Dear Friends,
Could there be a more rewarding, satisfying feeling than when a decision you've made turns out to be a smash hit? That's how we feel about our sister store, FRANNIE.
She is just a "toddler" at 2 ½ years old, and she is surprising us every step of the way.
As any proud parent knows, success like this depends on a healthy family. We could not be more pleased with our staff in FRANNIE. Have you met Buyer Claire Abrahamson? She and her staff,
Lauren Carkhuff and Andrea Conner, bring taste, creativity and enthusiasm to FRANNIE every day. The outlook that Claire and her team bring is so refreshing. "I love it that my
customers will stop in on the way home from paddle or pilates. They may need one piece to refresh an outfit, or we'll put together two or three pieces for a 'wardrobe' of looks.
It's what I love to do," says Claire.
And that's what I love to do: put the right people in the right place with a sparkling selection of fun, fresh, right-priced merchandise, plus the best customers in the world.
One of the exciting things about this coming season is how easy it is to mix - colors, fabrics, shapes. Come and give FRANNIE a look and let us mix it up for you.
Thank you for your business.
All the best,

GRAYS AND BLACKS
Gray continues as the fashion neutral shade this season. From pale silver soft sweater
knits to charcoal suits, jacket, and pants. Gray also gets updated when it's paired with black for lots of dramatic gray and black mixes in prints and stripes.

FABRIC MIXING
This is a brand new look in novelty tops. They're a mix of a knit and woven together
in the same color, so the top is basically a solid, with a lot of fashion pizazz! The combinations
of lace and rib knit, organza and cable knit, jersey and taffeta are utterly charming.

COLOR BLOCKING
The "mix" story is so important this fall. Color splicing, banding, and
piecing become the design detail in many different ways. This year multi-colored accents take on a modernized Art Deco feel.

SHAPE, SHAPE, SHAPE
And, it's round, round, round for newness. The ease of fuller more relaxed shapes continues to dominate this season's
fashion trend with empire lines, trapeze and swing styles. A focal point for roundness is the sleeve where versions of puff and flutter add newness to the simplest item.

THE NEW JACKETS
New styles and shapes create this season's excitement, and what could be better than great classic menswear tweeds and herringbones cut
into the new jacket shapes! A new tailoring takes over as we see shorter full sleeves, new curved seaming, deeper armhole sets, and flattering big portrait collars.

THE NEW LEATHER JACKETS
Patent is the hot young leather look with lots of shine and attitude. Brown ultra
fine baby lamb gets styled into a leather coat dress with lots of stitching and detail. Classic lamb steps out in the
new cape collar swing jacket and gets a glaze in a blazer with ruffle edge details.

THE NEW COAT CARDIGANS
A new breed of textured sweaters are knit into great 3/4 length cardigans that function as jackets and coats. Wear them to a soccer
or football game or before it gets too cold--for a new look all with the trend-right oversize button detail.

THE FASHION COAT
The coat this season is anything but basic. Coats now follow the fashion trend of softer shape, ease and roundness, tailoring
detail, full sleeves and pockets. With large cape and portrait collars framing the face, these coats make a fashion statement of their own.

THE NEW CARDIGANS
Ample and full of ease, these new items represent the new boxy fashion shape.
Knitted texture is key utilizing comfy cables, popcorn, rack and shaker stitches.

JUMPERS
We love wearing dresses, and this season the jumper becomes the new young fashion item.
Knit or woven, they become the new layering piece over simple T's and turtles.

METALLIC
The allure of metallic lives on stronger than ever.....in everything, and worn everywhere,
24/7. The young attitude of wearing silver matelasse for day over jeans, or a washed gold blazer with ruffle edge pockets
is "tight." Look closely and you'll see glints of silver or gold running through the weaves or knits in many pieces.

CLUTCHES AND OVERSIZE BAGS
Something for everyone and every style, the fashion bags this season continue to be very large. Our favorites are a leather
tote wrapped in its self bow and an oversize doctor's satchel with fun closures and pocket detail. On the other end of the spectrum are our great clutches,
medium and large size that mix reptile and animal patterns, washes of metallic leather, and the charm of more bows and patent leather.

"She Sews Her Own Clothes"
Jodi Arnold has come a long way from her sewing machine in Birmingham, Alabama. Today, her MINT jodi arnold collection features bold geometric prints and
intricate detailing, showcasing her artistry in fabrics, shapes and colors.
Jodi Arnold got her first sewing machine at age 13, and started designing her own clothes to wear to school in Alabama. We can only be sure she did not blend in with the rest of the class.
After graduating with a degree in fashion design, Ms. Arnold fine-tuned her craft as an illustrator and trend forecaster. Over a cup of tea, in Paris (where else?), she conceived the brand
MINT jodi arnold and launched it in 1999.
You can find her at Frannie. In fact, we've featured two of her designs here in this newsletter. Can you tell which ones are MINT?
